I don’t have bipolar

12/04/2013

Be silent and listen: have you recognized your madness and do you admit it? Have you noticed that all your foundations are completely mired in madness? Do you not want to recognize your madness and welcome it in a friendly manner? You wanted to accept everything. So accept madness too. Let the light of your madness shine, and it will suddenly dawn on you. Madness is not to be despised and not to be feared, but instead you should give it life.
– Carl Jung, The Red Book

An individual has the right to express himself or herself even if he or she behaves irrationally; to demonstrate his or her insanity.
– Muammer Gaddafi, The Green Book

I suffer from intelligence
I’ve got myself a lot of trouble from being too smart
And too stupid to keep my mouth shut about it
But I don’t have intelligence
I am intelligent

I suffer from compassion
There’s a lot of people in a lot of hurt out there you know
And not too distant either, if you’re seeing where you look
But I don’t have compassion
I am compassionate

I suffer from bipolar
Don’t get me started on that one
It can be hard to stop
But I don’t have bipolar
I am bipolar

And I’m up and I’m down
And I’m fast and I’m slow
And I’m happy and I’m sad
And I’m exhausted and exultant
I’m brave and cowardly
I’m innocent and guilty
Incisive and uncertain
Tender and cruel
Honest and deceitful
Transcendental and excremental
Proud and ashamed

That’s not what I have
Its what I am
I suffer from me

If I was going to start complaining about that I’d be leading a pretty whiny life wouldn’t I?
And exactly who would be doing the complaining anyhow?

Oh and by the way
I don’t have any fucking disorders either.
